Endless opportunities for recreation are just steps away from your front door at Heron Lakes. Residents in our community never need to worry about the development of the open space. In cooperation with TPC Colorado, the Town of Berthoud and various other organizations, we are proud to offer over 130 acres of dedicated open space that will never be developed. This space offers 8.7 miles of maintained trails as well as 4.5 miles of shoreline along the three reservoirs in our community.

Heron Lakes is home to the largest Great Blue Heron Rookery in the state of Colorado. We are fully committed to the conservation and enhancement of the natural areas in our community. We are proud to be associated with TPC Colorado who are Audubon Internationally certified for their dedication to preserving the land in Heron Lakes.
